Unit 5 Blog

Hello All,

The Subtle Mind exercise creates wisdom thus generating personal well-being.  With this exercise we calm the incessant chatter of our minds, as to experience our truest and deepest selves.  With the Subtle Mind exercise we can create a witnessing consciousness and live in calm abiding.

In the Loving Kindness exercise we realize that there is a balance in caring for ourselves and others.  Extending Loving-Kindness to ourselves will allow us to see that we are one with others as well.  This exercise helps us to lose sight of being self-centered in a #selfie society. There is nothing wrong with loving ourselves to the fullest, however there is much to be said for selfishness and there is a significant difference.

There is a large connection in spiritual, mental and physical wellness, they all depend on one another and when one is out of balance they all become off kilter. Attending to each daily helps to cultivate the wellness of each aspect leading to integral health and flourishing. In my personal life, I understand when I don’t tend to my spiritual life mentally I suffer with feeling overwhelmed, depressed and anxious.  Therefore tending to all three is extremely important for my well-being.
