Completing the universal
Loving-Kindness Meditation reminded me that everything that I repeated in the
phrases was what I needed and creates a commonality because everyone else needs
and wants the same thing. The practice
included gaining freedom from suffering, sustained health, happiness and wholeness (Dacher, 2006, p.93). Essentially, the world throughout wants to be
free, happy and healthy. I becomes us
because we all share in the human experience when we can conceptualize that we experience
and feel the same basic emotions. When
we can view one another as mirrors of ourselves we are more forgiving and
loving, because we realize we are in the struggle together and we are not
alone.
In the Integral Assessment I asked
myself what aspects in regards to psychospiritual, biological, interpersonal
and worldly aspects of my life is the source of my suffering. I chose
interpersonal, because since I have been inflexible/unhappy in the place where
I reside I have chosen to limit my interpersonal interaction. In this, I limit my ability to create a
stable support system which effects so many other aspects of my life.
I can foster greater wellness in
this area by accepting what is, instead of fighting where I am meant to be in
this moment. I cause undue suffering
when I go against the universe and the plan God has set for me. Learning to trust in the wisdom of uncertainty
will allow me to rest and create bonds with people that will strengthen my
support system.
